Backing up the argument: |
| |
The IDF 's policy is to avoid harming innocent civilians
as much as possible. |
| |
Most Palestinian casualties have been individuals who were directly
engaged in anti-Israel violence and terrorism. |
| |
Tragically, innocent Palestinians have been caught in the crossfire.
In many cases of Palestinian casualties, the Israeli military conducts
internal investigations to determine whether errors where made by
its soldiers. |
| |
This contrasts with the modus operandi of Palestinian terrorists
whose aim is to kill and maim as many civilians as possible in their
attacks, and who turn murderers of innocent children into national
heroes. |
| |
Palestinians would not be in danger or risk injury if they were
not attacking Israelis. |
| |
The possession and use of lethal weapons and other arms by the Palestinians
violates commitments they made in various agreements with Israel.
Under the Oslo Accords, the only weapons allowed in
the Palestinian-controlled areas are handguns, rifles and machine
guns, and these are to be held only by PA security officers. The launching
of Qassam rockets is a severe violation of this commitment. |
| |
It is astonishing that there was no public outcry when Palestinian
police killed two protestors at a Hamas-organized
rally in the Gaza Strip in which thousands of Palestinians marched
in support of Osama Bin Laden. |
| |
It is only Israelis who are denied their right to self-defense or
see it used as a propaganda weapon against them.
